Tessenie Mowatt is an international plus size model, digital influencer and stylist. Within the space of 5 years, she has gained the respect of the international plus size fashion community primarily through modelling, mentoring and brand ambassadorship. Tessenie’s career has allowed her to enjoy international travel and work experience; representing prominent brands at various fashion shows and conferences. Tessenie has worked for plus size retailer Penningtons as an activist and a special guest during their body positive campaign in July 2017. She also worked with Joe Fresh as a digital influencer as part of their ‘Extended Sizes’ campaign. Tessenie has ripped the runway for plus brands such as Ashley Stewart, Monif C, Torrid and Pheline. She has lent her voice on various panels about body image and diversity in media and fashion. She has also written for and appeared in local and international publications.
In 2015, Tessenie was presented with the Black Canadian Role Model Award for her contribution to the plus size fashion community in Canada. In 2017, she was named brand ambassador for Jamaica’s first full-figured conference that aimed to celebrate full-figured Jamaican women in fashion and business. In that same year, Tessenie landed her first cover feature in ‘Outlook’ a Jamaican magazine. Out of her genuine love for helping others, Tessenie created the Curves, Class and Mimosas Modelling Workshop series in Toronto, Canada where she trains aspiring plus size models about the fundamentals of the plus size fashion industry and branding.
As an infopreneur, Tessenie extends her brand to include public speaking and brand consultations. Her passion is to promote race and size diversity in fashion and media. Tessenie sets and achieves her goals through her natural charm, creativity, drive and love for her craft.
